1201Z Stay Active and Independent for Life (SAIL)
Tuesdays and Fridays, 1:00—2:00, Jan. 12—May 10
Thirty-five sessions
Instructors: LeeAnn Kanuit, Susan Jedrey
Class limit: 60
The SAIL program is a strength, balance, and fitness program. Exercises that improve strength, balance, and fitness are the single most important activity adults can do to stay active and reduce their chances of falling. The entire curriculum of activities in the SAIL program can help improve strength and balance, if done regularly. Classes will be 60 minute sessions with 20 minutes of low impact cardio and then 35 minutes of strength, balance and flexibility exercises. The sessions will be led by a trained SAIL leader. Here is a link for more information about the program: https://www.novafallsprevention.com/the-sail-program. There will no longer be pre and post fitness checks in Fairfax, so there will not be a request to complete surveys. Though optional, for those who wish, students are more than welcome to attend the pre and post fitness checks. The pre check will be on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, 1-2pm at Lubber Run Community Center, 300 N. Park Street, Arlington, VA.
