F666Z Preserving Our Democracy
Tuesdays, 11:50—1:15, Apr. 23—May 7
Three sessions
Instructor: Kenneth R. “Ken” Plum
Criticism of our democratic institutions has seldom been higher. Distrust of the Congress is at an all -time high. The presidency has received harsh criticism. For the few times in history there is distrust about the Supreme Court. Many proposals have been made about revising our Constitution through amendments or through a new Constitutional Convention. These criticisms will be evaluated by class readings and rigorous discussions.
Delegate Plum is one of the founders of OLLI and a popular leader of courses on Virginia’s history and government.
