F303Z The Imperial Presidency: From Woodrow Wilson to Joe Biden, Part Two
Thursdays, 9:40—11:05, Sept. 26—Oct. 17
Four sessions
Instructor: Michael McGregor
This course is a continuation of the winter 2024 term course, F305/F305Z Imperial Presidency, which focused on George Washington to Teddy Roosevelt. In 1974, Arthur Schlesinger Jr. wrote a book popularizing the "imperial presidency." We will continue the examination of the power of the modern presidency with a look at whether each president from Woodrow Wilson through Joe Biden acted like a king. The course will also examine the role of Congress in permitting the "imperial presidency."
See F302/F302Z for instructor information.
