SHAPE the Future of Aging is a 5-year strategic plan which acts as a north star for Fairfax County and community-based organizations to look to as we develop and implement services for older adults in our community. Join this panel conversation to learn about the opportunities outlined in the SHAPE plan to continue to make the Fairfax area an excellent place to age well.
Walter L. Alcorn was elected to a second term as Hunter Mill District Supervisor on January 1, 2024. Supervisor Alcorn served on several county boards and commissions, most notably the Planning Commission, followed by two years on the Park Authority Board. While on the Planning Commission, he led numerous initiatives including the school proffer policy, workforce housing policy, and Tysons re-planning. He is also a champion of improved pedestrian/bicycle safety, affordable housing, and the public safety co-responder model. In his second term, he chairs the Board’s Older Adults Committee as well as serving on numerous regional commissions and boards.
Beth Ann Margetta is the assistant program manager of the Fairfax Area Agency on Aging. She has an MSW, is a licensed clinical social worker, and has worked within the Fairfax County Department of Family Services’ Adult and Aging Division since 2008. She is passionate about working to support and enhance the quality of life and care for older adults, adults with disabilities, and their caregivers.
Linda Hernandez-Giblin is the legislative supervisor of the Fairfax Area Agency on Aging. She has an MSW is Systems Transformation and has worked within the Fairfax County Department of Family Services’ Adult and Aging Division since 2016, coming with prior experiences in local and national nonprofits focused on community development.
