This course is an introduction to the world of independent publishing. We’ll cover manuscript preparation and the mechanics of the independent publishing process including: ISBNs, LOC numbers, publisher and imprint names, formatting and cover creation, and printing options. We’ll compare Indie-publishing to traditional publishing, emphasizing why you may want to go the indie route. Your goals decide the process. We’ll discuss how to prepare your book for the global market in multiple formats. Discover the affordable, rapid, and straightforward eBook publishing process. Explore the enduring appeal of physical books and their creation. Navigate the booming world of audiobooks and make informed choices. End with valuable insights for your publishing journey.
Fred Rexroad has independently published multiple books since 2005. He also has experience with traditional publishers, having produced software for college financial textbooks and a story in a children’s anthology. He is the current treasurer of the Mid-Atlantic Chapter of Mystery Writers of America.
