This class is offered for those who are registered for the May 22nd bus trip (see 1207) to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts (VMFA), as well as anyone who would like to learn about key works of art at the VMFA, which houses a permanent collection of nearly 50,000 works of art from almost every major world culture. The instructor will concentrate on American and European 19th century painting, Art Nouveau and Art Deco decorative art, and Faberge and Russian Decorative Arts Galleries.
Roz Hoagland is a retired art historian. She taught at NOVA for 40 years and also at the Corcoran School of the Arts & Design. In retirement, she continues to take groups to Europe to study art and architecture. Since 1999, she has led more than 60 trips to 28 countries
