1009 Spring 2020 Docent Tour of Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens
Thursday, 9:45–4:30/5pm, May 28
Coordinator: Rita Way
Tour limit: 30
Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens in Richmond is considered a gem and is one of the top four gardens in the United States. There are 50 acres of spectacular gardens and the classical domed conservatory is the only one of its kind in the mid-Atlantic. More than a dozen themed gardens include a Children’s Garden, Rose Garden, Asian Valley, and Cherry Tree Walk. It is a place to learn about plants, to marvel at nature, and relax in a beautiful setting. Join us for a day in May visiting these gardens. Our visit will include time to explore the gardens, including special exhibits, followed by a docent-led tour in the early afternoon, which will last about one hour. Lunch is on your own either at The Garden Cafe or Robins Tea House. Before leaving, visit the unique treasures in the Garden Shop. A fee of $71 payable to OLLI at the time of registration covers museum admission, docent tour, transportation, and bus driver gratuity. Registration is on a first come, first served basis. The bus will leave promptly at 10:00 from Fair Oaks Mall, Lot 57, which is located outside the circular road in front of ManTech Corp and return around 4:30/5:00. Please be on the bus no later than 9:45 for departure.
