This is a continuation of the “Native American Veterans in the Wars” course previously presented at Fairfax and Loudoun. There will be a brief review of the citizenship issue discussed previously, as well as discussions of actions in World War I, Code Talkers in both WWI and WWII, medals earned, and a Native American Pow Wow in Iraq.
Michael Nephew is a citizen of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians and comes from a long line of Native American veterans. He is also a past president of the American Indian Society of Washington, DC, and of the American Indian Inter-Tribal Organization.
