F660 TED Talks Discussion Group
Thursdays, 9:40- 11:05, Oct. 24- Nov. 14
Four sessions
Instructor: Russell Stone
TED (Technology, Entertainment, and Design) is a growing collection of brief recorded talks on a wide range of topics. The speakers are leading figures chosen for their ability to express ideas clearly and succinctly. We will watch and discuss three or four related TED talks each week.  Topics will include Happiness, Lying, Humor, and TED all-stars Malcolm Gladwell and Yuval Noah Harari.
Russell retired from a 40-year career as a professor of sociology, most recently at American University, and before that at SUNY Buffalo. He taught "Sociology of the Future" for many years, before realizing that the future isn't what it used to be! He now relies on the next generations to supply up-to-date information. He is co-chair of the OLLI Program Committee.
