L424 Summer 2018 River of Doubt Book Discussion Group
Wednesday, 11:50–1:15, July 25
One session
Moderators: Richard Wilan, Ray Beery

Loudoun program planners have proposed forming a non-fiction book club starting fall term 2018. For summer term, we will explore this option with a discussion group on River of Doubt (2005), by Candice Millard. Described as “an incredible adventure narrative and a penetrating biographical portrait,” River of Doubt follows Theodore Roosevelt and his son as they journey down the dangerous, uncharted waters of the Amazon in 1912. There will be poisoned arrows, piranhas, deaths, and much to discuss. Join us as we launch our Non-Fiction Book Club and discuss this provocative and exciting book. Be sure to read the book before you come. You won’t be able to put it down.
Richard Wilan and Ray Beery are regular teachers on the Loudoun campus.
