Instructor: Mary Kipps
Class limit: 10
Have you written a book or are you close to finishing one? Are you wondering if indie (independent) digital publication is the way to go? Indie publication is an ever-growing segment of the market for books in the US. But choosing this route does not come without a certain expenditure of time and effort on your part, especially for a first book. This interactive lecture series will help you prepare for eBook publication using Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP). Topics will include the importance of title and book cover, eBook front and back matter, content formatting for Kindle, ISBNs, eBook pricing and royalty payments, Amazon search keywords and Kindle category assignments, eBook description, and reader and distributor access. Also discussed will be marketing tools, including: Amazon’s Author Central, eBook websites and newsletters, social media, and Amazon ad campaigns and promotions.
Mary Kipps is the indie author of three fiction eBooks. She is also an award-winning poet, internationally published since 2005. For over a decade during her professional career in information technology she authored numerous
in-depth technical manuals and lectured around the world, sharing her knowledge with engineers, researchers, and developers.
