109F Oil Painting in the Cottage: Artist Talk and Demo
One session
Instructor: Brianna Camp
Monday, 2:15—3:40, Apr. 13
Class limit: 30
In summer 2026, the instructor will debut a show on her award-winning project Flare. The show will consist of a series of large-scale oil paintings, each accompanied by documentary photographs and poetry. In exploring her personal experiences with navigating the ebb and flow of her chronic illness, the show offers audiences the chance to reflect on commitment to place, how we process pain over time, and the vastness of the potential for healing. Join the instructor this spring prior to the summer show as she creates large scale oil paintings for the show, talks about her work, answers questions, and provides a painting demonstration.
Brianna Camp is a visual artist who received her BFA Art and Visual Technology degree from George Mason University’s School of Art in 2023. She received the Young Alumni Commissioning Project Award and commissioning support from The College of Visual and Performing Arts for her project, Flare: Finding a Sense of Place in the Chronically Ill Body. Camp’s paintings, murals, and drawings are inspired by the healing connection that can be facilitated through art.
