This course highlights examples of the musical talent that abounds at Mason. Each week, knowledgeable and enthusiastic professors from the Dewberry School of Music of George Mason University, often accompanied by their most promising students, will generously share their musical gifts in presentations that are varied, lively, informative, and entertaining.

March 25—Piano Students from the Studio of Dr. Linda Monson will perform exciting masterworks of the piano repertoire, including works by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Rachmaninoff, Ravel, Prokofiev, and more

April 1—Vocal students from the studio of Prof. Jennifer Casey Cabot will perform beloved vocal compositions

April 8-- Mason Woodwind students (clarinet, bassoon, saxophone) will perform a varied recital with Dr. Ina Mirtcheva Blevins, collaborative pianist

April 15:  Yuan Chen Lai, doctoral pianist (student of Dr. Monson), will perform a lecture-recital featuring Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition

April 22:  Brittany Sterling Young, doctoral violinist (student of Prof. June Huang) and GaYoung Lee, collaborative pianist will perform a beautiful program of violin-piano compositions

April 29: Piano Students from the studio of Dr. Anna Balakerskaia will perform marvelous gems of the piano repertoire

May 6: Dr. Hakyong Kelly Park (former student of Dr. Monson) will present a lecture-recital entitled “Schubert and His Piano Music.”

May 13: Dr. David Porter (tuba) and Dr. Mark Jenkins (euphonium) will present the Mason Tuba and Euphonium Ensemble in a thrilling finale concert of low-brass music
 
Linda Apple Monson, International Steinway Artist, serves as director of the Reva and Sid Dewberry Family School of Music in the College of Visual and Performing Arts at George Mason University where she is a University Distinguished Service Professor. She has performed and lectured throughout the world.
Ina Mirtcheva-Blevins is a graduate of George Mason University with a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance. She currently teaches keyboard skills at Mason and is also a faculty member of the Mason Community Arts Academy.
