F658 The Pros and Cons of a Universal Healthcare System for America
Monday, 2:15—3:40, Oct. 21
One session
Instructors: Jim Cantwell, Stephen Quick
Coordinator: Peg O’Brien
According to a Gallup pool from 2022, 57% of Americans think that healthcare is the responsibility of the Federal Government. Most industrialized countries have some form of universal healthcare. These healthcare systems can be 100% publicly financed, 100% privately financed, or a combination of both. Can the U.S. design and develop a universal healthcare coverage system that is a combination of public and private financing? If so, what would be the pros and cons of such a system? How can the cons be overcome?
Jim Cantwell. See F205 for instructor information.
