F109Z  This is Sinatra! Celebrating the Man, His Music, and Cultural Impact
Wednesdays, 2:15—3:40, Mar. 27—May 1
Six sessions
Instructor: Michael Agron

Discover the captivating story of Frank Sinatra, the 20th century's most beloved singer and entertainer. Sinatra's unparalleled rise to fame is a testament to his unwavering resilience and adaptability throughout his six-decade career.
Had his career ended in the late 1940s when he was known as "The Voice," Sinatra would be remembered as an exceptional singer but not as the legendary figure he became. It was only after hitting rock bottom in 1952 that he emerged from near obscurity to earn the titles of "Chairman of the Board" and "Ol’ Blue Eyes," thereby becoming a cultural icon. If you are a Sinatra fan or want to know the backstories of what made Sinatra Sinatra, this multimedia presentation will highlight his incredible singing on records, movies, television, Las Vegas, and in concert halls. The class will also focus on lesser-known career facts on how he impacted our culture and managed to stay on top of the entertainment world in the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s and beyond.
Michael Agron grew up in LA, the heart of the recording and entertainment industry. He loved music so much he wanted to become a recording engineer. Fate had different plans and he ended up with a successful career in hi-tech, including founding a webinar marketing agency. He has been fortunate enough to fulfill his musical and entertainment passions by offering seven uniquely popular seminars twelve times to members of the Sacramento Renaissance Society at Cal State University and to other OLLI organizations across the country.
