The Phillips Collection is an art museum founded by Duncan and Marjorie Archer Phillips in 1920.is located in the DuPont Circle neighborhood of Washington, DC. The collection of superb works of impressionist and modern art—shown in an intimate setting—is internationally recognized. Paintings by Renoir, Rothko, Bonnard, O’Keefe, and Van Gogh are among the many stunning art works.museum’s distinctive building combines galleries located within the Duncan and Marjorie Phillips’ home. The trip includes a docent-led tour lasting about one hour, which will allow subsequent time to view other paintings in the collection and perhaps a visit to the extensive gift shop. Lunch will be on our own—either in the museum café or at a nearby restaurant; a list of restaurants will be provided. The bus will leave promptly at 9:00 from Fair Oaks Mall parking lot No. 57, which is outside the circular road in front of ManTech Corp. Please be on the bus no later than 8:45. Estimated time of return is 3:15. A fee of $54, payable to OLLI at the time of registration, covers the entrance fee, bus trip and driver gratuity. Registration for this event is on a first-come, first-served basis.
