Many have headed to Nationals Park for baseball, but did you know that cheaper tickets with closer seats are available in the minor league games around DC? We will head out to a ballgame at Pfitzner Park in Woodbridge, home of the Class AAdvanced Potomac Nationals. Enjoy a buffet lunch of hamburgers, hot dogs, potato salad, and cole slaw, with soft drinks included (and beer available for purchase). Expect a visit from Potomac Nationals’ mascot Uncle Slam, and other possible surprise guests. Afterward, we have reserved seats for a game against the Frederick Keys (a Baltimore Orioles’ farm team), and a close-up view of future Washington Nationals or perhaps a current National on rehab assignment. OLLI members, family, and friends are welcome to attend. Note: Prices for the event are based on the age of the attendee; register accordingly (see 954 and 955 for the same trip, but for younger attendees.) Please arrive at Pfitzner Park 7 County Complex Court, Woodbridge, VA, no later than 12:00, where there will be an OLLI table set up near the Box Office with tickets and picnic wristbands. The fee of $43, payable to OLLI at time of registration, includes admission, buffet lunch, and soft drinks. Parking is not included and costs $6 per car. Directions to the ballpark and a participant roster will be emailed to facilitate carpooling. Registration for this event is on a first-come, first-served basis.
