Tuesdays, 9:40–11:05, June 19–June 26
Fairfax Lord of Life
Instructor: Roz Hoagland
Art Nouveau, the beautiful decorative arts style of the late 19th and early 20th century, flourished in several major cities in Europe. The style was quite different in each of these locations. In Brussels and Paris, the style was fluid and curving with inspiration coming from plants. In Glasgow and Vienna, designers emphasized straight lines. We'll examine furniture, jewelry, and posters in the first class. The second class will be devoted to key works of architecture.
