210Z Preparing for the Rest of Your Life
One session
Instructor: Kay Bransford
Thursday, 9:40—11:05, Nov. 5
This session will give you a simple toolkit to make sure that your estate planning works for those you have named. The What If Kit is a tool that ALL adults should complete to ensure that those you are counting on, have the information they need to assist, until you’re back on your feet. This information kit will take well-organized individuals less than an hour to complete and is something you should share to ensure household expenses are covered, allows someone to help if you there is a credit breach or fraud on your accounts, and allows someone to manage healthcare bills and coverage or claims management. Autopay and digital and paperless billing can make it difficult for even those with legal authority (like a durable power of attorney) to know about and manage accounts. Most people are unprepared for disruptions and lack the information to manage affairs during incapacity or after death. Join us to ensure you know how to help your partner or spouse if they are incapacitated. And get this done for yourself to ensure others can help you if needed.
