503F Japanese for Beginners
Eight sessions
Instructor: Sonia Segarra-Law
Thursdays, 9:40—11:05, Sept. 24—Nov. 12
This series is a continuation of the summer 2026 class. We will continue the study of the Japanese language and culture by reviewing some of the concepts already learned, including the two phonetic languages (Hiragana and Katakana). We will construct sentences by adding particles; conjugating verbs; and using verb tenses in scenarios such as ordering food and drinks, giving directions, and talking about family.
Sonia Segarra-Law worked for the Japanese government for seven years and studied the Japanese language, culture, and history at Carleton College in Minnesota.
